This privacy policy sets out how Ellen Forster Photography uses and protects any information that you give Ellen Forster Photography when you use this website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Contact and communication with us
Users contacting us through this website do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. We collect only personal information about you, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number and event details that you voluntarily provide to us. For example, we may receive personal information about you when you send us an email enquiry through our website. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use. We do not sell any personal information we receive through our website to any third party, nor will we add such information to any bulk email list we may prepare.
Contact Forms
As stated above, all contact information received in our contact form through this website is provided by you voluntarily. Enquiries made through our contact forms are kept for six months, after which if a booking has not been made we will assume you no longer require our services and will therefore delete your contact details. However, where a booking has been made this contact information is kept until such a time as it is no longer required, (for example a couple may enquire two years before their wedding date, therefore this information will need to be kept for a minimum of two years). Details of which will be given in your contract when booking your wedding/ event with us. We do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes nor do we sell your personal information to any third party.

Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are essential for you to browse our website and use its features. Without these cookies, services like shopping baskets for example cannot be provided.
Performance cookies. These cookies collect information about how you use our website. This data may be used to help optimise our website and make it easier for you to navigate.

Who we share your data with
We do not sell any personal information we receive through our website to any third party, nor will we add such information to any bulk email list we may prepare.
As part of our services, we use the following companies;
Pixieset (https://ellenforsterphotography.pixieset.com/booking/) for collating information about our couples wedding days. Such as invoices, contracts and wedding questionnaires for the couple’s wedding timeline and other information relating to the delivery of our services on the day. Bookings are also made through this site for pre-wedding consulations prior to couples booking my photography services. After which if a booking is not made we will assume you no longer require our services and will therefore delete your contact details.
Pic-time (https://ellenforsterphotography.pic-time.com/) for the delivery of our galleries to couples, and as our online shop to purchase prints, albums and other print products. The information put into the gallery for you to view is your photos, email, name and wedding date. Any information given by couples or any guests through this website to purchase products are used to fulfill the order by myself and SIM Imaging (please see below).
SIM Imaging (https://simimaging.co.uk/) for the printing of our albums. These albums are printed under the request of the client within their contract with Ellen Forster Photography. In this case, the photos as well as any engraving/ messages clients request to have in the album, will be sent to SIM Imaging for printing, no other personal information is given unless requested by the client (for example if the client would prefer the album to be sent to their address direct from SIM Imaging rather than delivered to them by Ellen Forster Photography. Or where delivery by Ellen Forster Photography is not possible due to an address abroad then SIM Imaging will require name and address in this situation).
We also use SIM Imaging for creating sample albums, which we use to show other potential clients in our one-one consultations as well as other marketing such as wedding shows or to advertise our custom albums on our Services page/ social medias. The photos we use are only with consent from the couple of said wedding.
We are also part of wedding planning sites Bridebook, Hitched and Weddingwire. Any information couples give to Ellen Forster Photography through these sites to enquire/ book our services are sent to Ellen Forster Photography’s account with these websites as well as a notification of a new enquiry to Ellen Forster Photography’s email address. The email enquiry information received through these sites is used by Ellen Forster Photography in the same way and held for the same duration as when you enquire through our contact forms on this website (please see above). Please also check Bridebook, Hitched and Weddingwire’s own privacy policies, as any information given to these websites directly are governed by their own privacy policy and not under our privacy policy.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. We do not use this account information for any marketing or advertising.
Any enquiries made through our contact page are kept for six months unless a booking is made. Details of how long we will retain the data for bookings will be outlined in your contract of services with us.
Any images we take as part of our services are assigned as copyright to us. We retain the right in all cases to use the photographs in any manner at any time and in any part of the world for the purposes of advertising or otherwise promoting our work. Consent to use these images is given to us in writing at the time of booking, more details of which can be found in your contract with us.
Your rights
We want you to be in control of how your personal information is used by us. Subject to local law, you can do this in the following ways:
- you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you. For example, if you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us;
- you can inform us of any changes to your personal information, or if you want us to correct any of the personal information we hold about you;
- in certain situations, you can ask us to erase, block or restrict the personal information we hold about you, or object to particular ways in which we are using your personal information. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
