The one behind the lens and Ellen Forster Photography.

Hello I’m Ellen,

photo-taker, massive food lover, tea drinker, adventure seeker, dancer, family-orientated, harry potter fan, quoter and singer of everything disney.

thanks for coming to say hi,

I live in Hertfordshire but you’ll soon discover that I love to travel. My bucket list is forever growing with more places to visit!

I am also a bit of a home bird, family really means a lot to me. I love spending time with my niece and nephews, having family BBQ’s, trips to the theatre with my boyfriend and burger nights at my Nan’s (she’s my partner in crime!)

I absolutely LOVE to dance, I hear music and just can’t help but move. So I warn you now when you hire me for your wedding there is a high chance I will be singing and dancing behind my camera lens while I catch your awesome dance moves at the reception! Especially if Whitney’s “I wanna dance with somebody” plays – who doesn’t get up and dance to that song?!

Oh and if you tell me you love Harry Potter then we’ll be best friends!

My Photography Style

Think of me as your extra guest. With a documentary style and a love for natural light, my approach is to be unobtrusive and photograph your day as it unfolds. So you can remember your day as it really happened. Capturing your personalities exactly as they are and the things you love.

I’m so passionate about photographing those beautiful moments for you to look back on and say “look at the amazing time we had!” and “What we were laughing about there?” From happy tears at the ceremony, the group photos of all your loved ones together with genuine smiles, laughter during speeches to everyone busting their moves on the dancefloor at the reception! So you can focus on celebrating and will forget the camera is even there.

I always tell my couples that my job as your photographer is to capture all the things that are important to YOU. And I truly believe that. Your day goes by so quickly, that wedding photography shouldn’t be about what anyone else wants. Seeing what your wedding is all about and capturing the chemistry and love you share. I think it’s important for you to be able to sneak off for time alone together for some private shots. And to actually take a moment to let it sink in that you just got married!

I have so much passion for what I do that I always get excited when a couple loves my work and trusts me to capture their special day. It’s such a privilege to be invited to capture this. I always feel like I should thank you, for asking me to be part of such an intimate moment and allowing me to call what I love my ‘job’.

Can we meet with you before we book?

Absolutely! I know it’s important to be able to find the right photographer for your special day and one you can connect with. So, I always like to set up a chat, I’ll bring samples for you to see and we can talk about your exciting plans. And if you aren’t local, we can always set up a video call!

Where do you cover?

I’m based in Hertfordshire but I love to travel and I love a wedding. So, I will go wherever you want me! Depending on where the wedding is may require an overnight stay – this way there’s no worry of your photographer being stuck in traffic on your wedding day!

When will we get our photos?

You’ll get some sneaky peeks a few days after the wedding, to keep you going. Then I aim to have the photos ready in 4-6 weeks from your wedding date. You’ll be able to view them in an online gallery to share with family and friends. And don’t forget you’ll also receive them all on a USB in a beautifully presented box.

Are you insured?

Yes, this is very important as many venues will only allow you to use suppliers with insurance. I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Do you offer bespoke collections?

Yes of course! I have two collections; half day and full day. Both of which can be customised to add a second shooter, engagement shoot or albums. To include what suits you! See more about my collections here.

Do you do albums?

I certainly do! I use a fabulous local company (SIM Imaging) to create some truly gorgeous albums for my couples. See some examples of them here, I also bring them along to our initial consultation for you to see.

How many photos do we get?

For a full day wedding I always say 250 images as a minimum; however, I never restrict the number of photos you get. As a photographer, I (obviously) love photos and would hate to not get all of the photos. So, whatever I use or keep is what you will receive, which is always so much more than 250!! So you won’t miss a thing!

What is copyright?

It’s something to protect us photographers from someone stealing our work. But whilst I hold the copyright, your photos are yours to do what you like with. If you want to share them on your social medias or print them for around your home, that’s brilliant! I LOVE it when clients are so happy with their photos and it means a lot when they want to show them off to everyone. I would be extremely grateful if you would credit Ellen Forster Photography and put a link to my website.

We’d love to book you, how do we do this?

That’s brilliant news! Once we’ve confirmed I have your date available I will send across the forms etc. All I need is a signed contract and a 20% retainer. Then you’ve got me! The remaining payment then isn’t due until 30 days before the wedding.

Ellen took photos at our wedding in 2015, she was amazing. She made everyone feel at ease. We wanted just natural shots and a few group photos. Ellen managed to achieve this effortlessly, we got some truly beautiful and natural shots. She was wonderful, very unintrusive we felt so comfortable. We have just booked her for our daughters wedding and she is thrilled as Ellen was her first choice. I would highly recommend Ellen to anybody.
